Liana Wang (she/they) is a JD candidate at Harvard Law School. She previously received a B.A. in Economics (with distinction) from Yale, where she was also a Human Rights Scholar. Liana then received an MPhil in Political Theory (with distinction) at the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar.
Liana's work focuses on economic justice and civil rights. Before law school, Liana conducted economics research on income inequality, the labor market, and social insurance policies. She helped support litigation and advocacy at the Bronx Defenders as a data analyst, and also worked in local government to implement pandemic recovery and sustainability initiatives. After law school, Liana hopes to work as a civil rights attorney, demanding accountability from government and corporations, and pursuing equality, dignity, and opportunity for low-income and vulnerable communities.
Liana is originally from Houston, TX. She enjoys running, cooking for her friends, and biking through new cities. Outside of law school, Liana works as a baker.
