Erica Scott is a JD candidate at Yale Law School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in International Relations with minors in Economics and Modern Languages (French and Arabic) at Stanford University where she also served as the 2019-2020 Student Body President. She moved to the United Kingdom in 2020 as a Marshall Scholar, earning master’s degrees in Near and Middle Eastern Studies at SOAS University of London and Conflict Resolution in Divided Societies at King’s College London.

Prior to law school, Erica worked for three years as a community organizer in South London, building grassroots civil society campaigns for housing justice, immigrants’ rights, and access to healthcare. She organized coalitions that helped allocate NHS-owned land for affordable housing, reduce medical debt for undocumented patients in South London's hospital system, and secure £11 million in national child homelessness funding. Her experience organizing with low-income immigrant communities sparked her interest in the intersection between legal advocacy, including deportation and eviction defense, and grassroots organizing. She aspires to become a movement lawyer, providing innovative legal and strategic support to community-led organizations working to advance tenants’ and immigrants’ rights.

Erica grew up in Miami, FL, where her family’s dedication to racial equity in healthcare inspired her passion for social justice. A proud Floridian, she is often found at the beach, and occasionally the swamp. In her free time, Erica enjoys live music, collecting records, and practicing her French, Arabic, and Spanish.
