Carlee Goldberg

JD, Harvard University

Carlee Goldberg is a JD candidate at Harvard Law School. She received a BA in Political Science and History with distinction from Duke University as an AB Duke Scholar, with a focus in gun violence prevention. She is also the recipient of the Truman and Nakayama Scholarships for leadership and public service. Following her undergraduate studies, she earned an MSc in Evidence-Based Social Intervention and Policy Evaluation at the University of Oxford as a Rotary Global Grant scholar, where she studied community-based violence interruption programs.

Carlee’s research centers on violence prevention and civic engagement. She has studied gun violence from multiple disciplines, including with the Duke Center for Firearms and the Duke Medical School through the Juvenile Delinquents and Adult Gun Laws Study.  She has also researched gun violence internationally with the International Action Network on Small Arms and the United Nations Office of Disarmament Affairs.

Carlee served as the Director for the Triangle Debate League, an organization aimed at increasing access to speech and debate opportunities in the Triangle area. She has also worked with the Dispute Resolution Service at the World Bank and now serves as a special assistant in the U.S. Department of Commerce. After law school, Carlee will forward gun violence prevention through both research and legal practice, working to develop and support community-led solutions to reducing violence.

Carlee is from Parkland, FL. She enjoys painting, historical preservation of medieval castles, and musical theatre. Carlee is also an avid Marvel fan and has published chapters on the politics of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
