Aditya Narayan is MD/MBA candidate at Stanford University with an interest in addiction medicine and health systems leadership. He graduated from the University of Virginia (UVA) with degrees in Chemistry and Biology. Aditya is a Knight-Hennessy Scholar at Stanford University.
Inspired by his mother, a part-time music teacher, at UVA, he co-founded ReinventED Lab, a non-profit that pioneered student-driven educational reforms. At the same time, his interest in mental health, social drivers of health inequity, and the sciences led him to medicine. His work as a peer health educator and volunteer firefighter deepened his commitment to serving vulnerable populations, and following graduation, he pursued a range of opportunities in non-profit, for-profit, and government roles. He was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to teach at the University of Łódź in Poland, where he designed and evaluated courses on scientific and patient communication. Subsequently, he served as a Data and Training Manager for the Virginia Department of Social Services, creating training programs around substance use disorders.
Throughout his time in Virginia, he supported the development of harm-reduction networks, expanding access to services through the Virginia Harm Reduction Coalition and developing digital health tools to support access to medications for opioid use disorder. At Stanford, Aditya has continued to develop academic-community partnerships through the Stanford Housing Equity Project and the Education Justice Academy, while working nationally on the Board of Directors of the American Association of Medical Colleges to advance medical education innovation. His current research interests span health policy, technology adoption, and epidemiology.
